Brigadier General Arif Maula, ndc, afwc, psc (retd) is a dynamic, honest, and dedicated personality.
He was born and brought up in Dhaka in an elite Muslim family. He accomplished his SSC from Motijheel Ideal High School, Dhaka, and HSC from Dhaka College, Dhaka. He was commissioned in Bangladesh Army in 1982 and developed a creditable career track encompassing a fine blend of all key areas. He held operational appointments both in Infantry and Artillery Brigades, Infantry Division, Army Headquarters, and Armed Forces Division (Prime Minister’s Office). He commanded Independent Artillery Battery, Regiments, and Brigades. He was Director Artillery, Director Armed Services Board, and Dean Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies in Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).
He graduated from the Defense Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur, on Army Staff Course and from the National Defense College, Mirpur, on Armed Forces War Course and National Defense Course. He obtained three Master’s degrees from the National University of Bangladesh and BUP on Defence Studies, War Studies, and Strategic and Development Studies. He completed a Post Graduate Diploma on Supply Chain Management from Bangladesh Institute of Management with distinction. He was also a faculty member of MBA programs in private universities.
He is a recipient of the Chief of Army Staff, Bangladesh Army’s Commendation for outstanding performance in administration. He has served as a UN Military Observer in UNTAG, Namibia, and as Chief Military Public Information Officer & Official Military Spokesman of the Force Commander Major General DS Robert Gordon (UK) in UNMEE, Eritrea, and Ethiopia. For his excellent performance in UNMEE, he was awarded the Force Commander’s Commendation.
After his retirement, he acquired experience as ED, Procurement & Supply Management in Ha-Meem Group, a leading RMG group in Bangladesh. He is a Director of Yamagata Dhaka Friendship General Hospital (YDFGH), a joint venture hospital with Japan, located in Banasree, where he actively contributed during its infrastructure construction, setting up of various hospital facilities including procurement. Later, he also served as COO & ED in Tech Valley Solution’s Ltd, a reputed IT company of the country.
